No foul play suspected after discovery of human remains: OPP

Police are working to identify human remains found east of Woodstock, but say foul play isn't suspected.

Officers responded around 4:45 p.m. Monday to a private property in Zorra Township, where the remains were found, the OPP said.

The address of the property won't be disclosed out of respect to the owner, OPP spokesperson Const. Patti Cote said.

"We are hoping the post-mortem examination will assist with determining the cause of death and timing, however it is not believed to be historical in nature,” Cote wrote in an email.

Foul play isn't suspected, Cote added.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and say there's no threat to public safety.

The OPP's major crimes unit is working with Office of the Chief Coroner.
